Impulse Control: From Chaos to Calm

If your dog struggles to slow down, it’s not a “bad behavior” problem—it’s a skill they haven’t learned yet

Impulse control is one of the most important (and overlooked) foundations of training. It’s what helps your dog pause instead of pulling, think instead of reacting, and choose calm behaviors even when they’re excited.

That’s exactly what we focus on in my 4-Week Impulse Control Class: From Chaos to Calm

Over four weeks, you and your dog will learn how to build real-life skills like:

• Waiting patiently instead of rushing (doorway manners)

• Walking politely on leash around distractions

• Greeting people without jumping

• “Leave it” with confidence

• Settling calmly in the home and in new environments

• Making thoughtful choices instead of impulsive reactions

This class is designed to go beyond basic obedience—we’re building emotional regulation, patience, and focus in a way that’s practical and achievable for everyday life.

Whether your dog is easily overexcited, struggles with distractions, or just needs help learning to pause, this class will give you the tools to create lasting change.

When: Every Thursday for 4 weeks starting April 2nd

Time: 6PM

Where: Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital

Cost: $150 per dog/handler team

Trick Tails: Novice Trick Dog Class

Ready to have some fun with your dog while building skills and confidence? I have teamed up with Very Important Pooch of Myrtle Beach to offer Trick Tails: Novice Trick Dog Class—a playful, engaging class focused on teaching your dog a variety of fun and functional tricks!

In this class, you and your pup will learn:

  • Spin

  • Paws Up

  • Pivot on a surface

  • Jump through a hoop

  • High Five

  • Center (perfect for close handling!)

Trick training isn’t just fun—it helps improve coordination, builds confidence, strengthens your bond, and provides great mental enrichment for your dog.

Whether you’re looking to teach party tricks or just want a new way to connect with your pup, this class is for you!
