Novice Scent Work

Ready to let your dog put their nose to work? Novice Scent Work is an introduction to the sport of canine scent work, teaching you and your dog the foundations needed to begin searching with purpose and confidence.

We’ll cover how to introduce your dog to odor, the novice-level odors, creating effective searches for practice at home, and how to recognize and read your dog’s odor behavior. You’ll learn how to set your dog up for successful searches while developing your ability to understand what their nose is telling you.

Each team will have the opportunity to work through the exercises independently during class. Only one team will be working at a time, allowing each dog to focus without the pressure or distraction of other dogs searching nearby.

Whether you’re looking for a fun new activity, interested in pursuing scent work as a sport, or simply want to give your dog a chance to use their incredible nose, this class is a great place to start!
